Why the Singapore COC

Open Singapore-Flag Sign-On Opportunities

Singapore is one of the world's largest ship registries. Officers holding an MPA Certificate of Competency are eligible to serve Singapore-flagged tonnage — a credential that carries weight with ship managers across Asia and the Middle East.

Recognised Certification

A COC issued by the MPA is treated with high regard by international ship owners and managers.

The Singapore Qualification Assessment (SQA) is the examination route used by the Maritime and Port Authority (MPA) of Singapore for foreign-trained seafarers to obtain a Singapore Certificate of Competency. Seafarers must clear the applicable written papers and oral examination to be issued the COC.
Deck and engine officers from the management and operational levels — from OOW / 2nd Mate and 4th Engineer right up to Chief Mate, Master, 2nd Engineer and Chief Engineer — can apply, subject to approved sea service and certificates.
We help with syllabus mapping, subject-wise revision plans, past-paper practice and mock oral sessions aligned to the MPA examiner's expectations, plus coordination of your SQA application and exam scheduling.
A Singapore COC qualifies you to serve on Singapore-flagged vessels, which operate across some of the busiest trade routes in Asia and are widely preferred by international ship managers.
